From the Hatcher Ming Cargo excavation, a chinese djonk which sank around 1645 outside Bintan in Indonesia, recovered by Michael Hatcher in 1988. This was the first of cargo from the sea at auction in modern times, and started a new collection era. The cargo was sold at three different auctions, and the total number of items was around 18.000. Ref: Number:Royal Nanhai - 1 Cockonut shaped celadon jar, Thailand 泰国青瓷罐 From the Royal Nanhai excavation, a Thai ship from ca 1460, en route from Ayuthaya in Tahailand to Batavia in Indonesia. Sank outside the island Tioman. The cargo was mainly Celadon/Sawankalok objects and a small selection of blue and white Chinese porcelain. Excavated at 46 meter depth by the swedish born diver and maritime archeolog Sten Sjöstrand and crew around 1998-2000. Nära 8.000 pjäser hittades, och en del av dem dyker upp på auktioner eller säljs av samlare. Some of the objects, in total 8.000 pcs was recovered, turn up at auctions and sold by collectors today.
